Outsight Joins the LiDAR Coalition as the Founding Software Member
The LiDAR Coalition's main objective is to encourage the use of LiDAR-based smart infrastructure and automotive safety solutions to maximize the public benefit of this technology’s adoption.
Outsight joined the LiDAR Coalition as the Founding Software Member to join forces with founding 3D sensor manufacturers (Aye, Cepton, Continental, Innoviz, Quanergy, Ouster, and Velodyne) and other recent members (Aeluma, Baraja, Ibeo, and Valeo).
Outsight will have a crucial role on adding the Software component to the Coalition in order to facilitate and accelerate the mass adoption of LiDAR solutions while broadening their beneficial effects on society.
As our team grows also in the south of France, we've moved to a larger and more comfortable space.

Partnership agreement between Outsight and Level Five Supplies
Outsight has teamed up with Level Five Supplies, LiDAR best-in-class equipment provider, in order to help system integrators to quickly launch LiDAR-based projects.
"Outsight is the recognised leader in LiDAR processing, so we are delighted to bring them on board – an ideal pairing with many of the LiDAR manufacturers we work with, and this new partnership will help our customers accelerate their use of LiDAR" - Mr. Lawrence-Berkeley, CEO of Level Five Supplies
Outsight has been recognized as one of the most innovative digital companies in France with the 2023 Innovation Award
Cédric Hutchings, Outsight's Co-founder and CEO, talked about LiDAR technology and its applications at Tech & Co, on BFM Business channel
And fresh publications in the Traffic Technology International (TTi) Magazine covering Outsight's opinion on LiDAR-based Smart City projects.
LiDAR Simulator is now available
Deciding which LiDAR to use, how many of them, evaluating the best locations (height, position, orientation).
Anticipating the performances depending on each setup and use case. These were just a few of the reasons that prompted us to build the missing tool in our mission to build the easiest way to use LiDAR.
Thanks to the valuable feedback on our beta version from more than 300 early customers from various contexts, applications and countries, we are pleased to announce the launch and general availability of our new 3D LiDAR Simulation tool!
We never stop adding new features and making existing ones to be even easier and faster to use.
In this new software version, we bring improvements on SLAM and LiDAR-Fusion capabilities.
SLAM algorithm more adaptable to your needs
Before, when configuring the SLAM operating context, there were only some context options to be chosen from, with little flexibility.
Now, there is an easy access to advanced parameters of the SLAM algorithm, allowing users to get more precision and gain performance on their specific use case.
SLAM Vision Range is now customizable
Using the Augmented Studio, it is now possible to ignore points being too close (for example, the vehicle on which the LiDAR is mounted) or too far (for example, distant areas that are irrelevant for the current use case) from the 3D sensor.
It's even easier to install multiple LiDARs
Checking one by one all the ALBs involved in a Multi-LiDARs setup could take a long time. So we constantly improve the user interface in order to simplify and secure such complex configuration.
A new indicator helps you to control at a glance the complete configuration of a multi-LiDARS installation.
We introduced many other improvements, that could seem small at first glance but are important for our customers. Among them:
REMOTE ACCESS SUPPORT
On-site assistance: when enabled by the user, Outsight is now able to access an ALB/C remotely for support operations.
OUSTER DATA PROCESSING
Support for Ouster LiDAR in Low Data Rate (firmware 2.3+), in Replay and Live modes. Moreover, we now support the latest firmware version 2.4.

The 5 mega-trends blowing in LiDAR tails
It's easy to lose sight of the big picture when, as a team, you're focused on delivering short-term and concrete LiDAR software solutions, so let's take a step back for a second and look at some macro-trends shaping the industry.
When traditional security systems try to use information from multiple sensors, like radars, pan-tilt-zoom cameras, and CCTV cameras, they can get very complex. Also, these systems have flaws and limitations, such as their tendency to give false alarms and their sensitivity to lightning and bad weather elements.
LiDAR Software - an enabler for expanding Intelligent Traffic Systems
Rapidly growing populations in metro regions across the world have created new and pressing difficulties, such as increased road traffic, traffic-related deaths, and higher carbon emissions.
These factors have highlighted more than ever the urgency and importance of multiplying ITS solutions.
Our team did a great job at the Smart City Expo World Congress showcasing in person what our LiDAR software can do.
In the Expo, we demonstrated in live how LiDAR-based solutions can be used for making cities smarter and safer.
Arts & Métiers Career Forum
We were happy to showcase our LiDAR software to students and candidates at the Arts & Métiers Career Forum.

Singapore SITCE 2022 Show
With Ouster, Outsight co-exhibited a new 3D ITS solution, developed with Ouster LiDAR and Outsight software at the most recent SITCE 2022 Show in Singapore.
The system consists of a Smart Traffic Management System that can also monitor Smart Digital Junctions in city centers, reducing congestion times and the risk of accidents.
